ANOTHER DAY DOWN, IT WAS OUR FIRST DAY INTO OUR SECOND WEEK AND I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS TOUGHER THAN EXPECTED. ON OUR WAY TO CHOW THIS MORNING WE PRACTICED MORE FACING MOVEMENTS. SOME OF US HAD A HARD TIME WITH “TO THE REAR” WHICH IN PART IS DUE TO RECRUIT BEING OUT OF STEP. THE COMPANY IS STILL BUILDING AS A UNIT. I HAVE FAITH THAT WE WILL SOON GET OUR FACING MOVEMENTS DOWN AND STAY IN STEP WITH THE COMPANY COMMANDERS CAEDENCE. AFTER MORNING CHOW X-188 AND Y-188 GOT THE OPPURTUNITY TO USE THE CYBEX GYM. PETTY OFFICER RAZOYK ALONG WITH MANY MORE GYM INSTRUCTORS TAUGHT US EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT THE MACHINES. AFTER OUR WORKOUT BOTH COMNPANIES VISITED WITH THE CHAPLAIN. IT WAS A NICE BREAK FROM THE WEEKEND AND OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS. ALTHOUGHT THE SUBJECT WAS NOT ONE OF JOY IT WAS VERY INFORMATIVE. AFTER THE CHAPEL OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS PRACTICE FACING MOVEMENTS WITH US FOR AN EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME. AFTER THE LAST MEAL OF THE DAY WE RETUNRED TO THE SQUADBAYS SO SWEAT OUT EVERY AND ALL CALORIED CONSUMED THAT DAY WITH WHAT IS CALLED REMEDIAL INSTRUCTIONS. REMEDIAL INSTRUCTIONS ARE USED TO CORRECT THE COMPANIES SHORT COMMINGS. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAVE A LOT OF THESE UNSTRUCTION AHEAD. THEY ARE ALL USED TO ACHIEVE A COMMON GOAL, TO BECOME A COAST GUARDSMAN.

TODAY WAS DEFINETLEY A LOT HARDER THAN YESTERDAY. IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT EACH DAY GETS PROGRESSIVLEY WORSE. OF COURSE TODAYS WAKE UP WAS ONE WE HAVE BECOME VERY FAMILIAR WITH “FIRE FIRE FIRE”. AFTER OUR EARLY MORNING “IT” SESSION WE HEADED TO CHOW. ALL RECRUITS LOOK FORWARD TO CHOW, WE ARE STARVING AND THE FOOD IS PRETTY GOOD. AFTER CHOW WE HAD OUR SECOND GO AROUND WITH A WORKOUT WE DID NOT DO SO WELL THE FIRST TIME. AFTER A MOTIVATING STORY BY PETTY OFFICER RAZOYK WE ATTEMPTED IT AGAIN. AFTER THE GYM WE GOT INTRODUCED TO OUR NEWEST FRIEND ZERO SLASHING. AFTER NOON CHOW WE HAD CLASS WITH PETTY OFFICER BOWE. THE CLASS HAD A LOT OF INFORMATION AND PETTY OFFICER BOWE HELPED US OPEN UP BY DOING SOME QUESTION ANSWERS TO GET TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER. THE CLASS WAS SHORT LIVED AND WE DID NOT CALL ATTENTION ON DECK WHEN CLASS WAS OVER SO OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS MADE SURE WE NEVER MADE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN. AFTER EVENING CHOW WE PLAYED A GAME OF ATTENTION ON DECK. WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN SITTING DOWN AND STANDING UP COULD MAKE YOU SWEAT SO MUCH. THE SWEAT DID NOT STOP THERE PETTY OFFICER MARTIN SHOWED US HOW MUCH CHANGING YOUR FOOTWEAR CAN MAKE YOU SWEAT. I NOR DID THE REST OF MY COMPANY THINK YOU COULD SWEAT THAT MUCH TAKING YOUR BOONDOCKERS OFF. BY THIS TIME WE WERE ALL STANDING IN FILTHE AND SWEAT. IT IS BEYOND ME HOW THE COMPANY COMMANDERS DO NOT THROW UP. LATER CHIEF DUNCAN DECIDED WE DID NOT GET ENOUGH EXERCISE OUTSIDE SO WE RAN UP AND DOWN THE PARADE FIELD. NOT BEFORE WE SIGNED IN AND OUT OF THE COMPANY AND SCREAMED I AM RUNNING THE ENTIRE TIME. FINALLY IT WAS TIME TO SHOWER AND HIT THE RACK. ANOTHER DAY DOWN IS ALL WE CAN TELL OURSELVES.

02OCT13
THIS MORNING WAS JUST AS PLEASANT AS THE MORNINGS BEFORE “FIRE FIRE FIRE” IS OUR SWEET ALARM TONE. ALTHOUGH THIS WAS NORMAL THE ONE MILE JOG AFTER WAS NEW BUT NICE SINCE IT WAS A COOL MORNING. FINALLY, MORNING CHOW X/Y COULD NOT EAT ENOUGH. AFTER CHOW IT WAS ON TO YET ANOTHER INTENSE CYLE CLASS LEAD BY PETTY OFFICER RAZOYK. AFTER GYM WE HAD ONE OF THE MORE IMPORTANT CLASSES HERE RATE AND RANKS. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW BECAUSE WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO GREET ALL MILITARY MEMBERS ACCORDINLY. ALTHOUGHT THIS CLASS WAS IMPORTANT THERE WAS SOMETHING MUCH MORE EXCITING WE GOT OUR PIECES. PIECES OR WHAT CIVILLIAND WOULD CALL THEM ARE WEAPONS. A M-1 GARAND RIFILE THAT IS INOPERABLE. IT IS USED SOLEY FOR TRAINING AND WHAT WE FOUND OUT LATER ANOTHER ITEM IN OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS BAG OF TRICKS TO MAKJE US SWEAT. ASIDE FROM THE PIECES WE GOT TO MARCH A LOT IN OUT BOONDOCKERS AND IT IS SAFE TO SAY THERE IS NOT A FOOT BLISTER FREE IN X-188. AT EVEING CHOW THE MORNAL FEAR OF BEING YELLED AT DURING CHOW WAS NOW EVEN WORSE SINCE OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS STARTED STOPPING EVERY RECRUIT AND ASKING THEM REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. THIS MIGHT NOT SOUND SCARY BUT SCREAMING AT YOUR COMPANY COMMANDER INFORMATION YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW IS LIKE SWIMMING WITH SHARKS. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BITE. AFTER CHOW WE HAD OUR FIRST MAIL DAY 20 MIN OF NO COMPANY COMMANDERS JUST LETTER WRITING AND READING. THIS WAS A MUCH NEEDED BREAK. THERE WAS NOT A DRY EYE AROUND FINALLY HEARING FROM OUR LOVED ONES BACK HOME. ONE MORE DAY DOWN AND WE ALL CANNOT WAIT FOR DIVINE HOURS.

03OCT13
AS THE DAYS PASS, I CANNOT SAY IT GETS ANY BETTER. AS A COMPANY WE STRUGGLE WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. TO ADD TO THIS THE INDIVIDUAL STRUGGLLES ARE WORSE HOMESICKNESS, SELF DOUBT, AND EXCUSES. TAKING 60 PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER AND TELLING THEM TO ACT LIKE A TEAM IS A HARD CONCEPT TO GRASP FRO X-188. WITH TIME I KNOW X-188 WILL PROVE TO BE A FORCE TO REACON WITH AND A CLOSE KNIT FAMILY THAT FUNCTIONS AS A WELL OILED MACHINE. AFTER MORNING CHOW WE HAD OUR FIRST TEST IN BOOTCAMP OUR SWIM ASSESSMENT. ALTHOUGH MOST PASSED A FEW DID NOT AND WILL LOSE MORE SLEEP DUE TO WAKING UP EARLY TO ATTEND SWIM CLASS TO HELP THEM PASS THE TEST IN LATER WEEKS. AFTER THE SWIM ASSESSMENT WE MET MRS GRANT WHO WORKS WITH WORK LIFE AND LEARNED ABOUT ALL THE AMAZING PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO US AND OUR FAMILIES. TODAY WAS FILLED WITH CLASS BUT PETTY OFFICER GRUBE MADE SURE WE SWEAT THIS EVENING WITH SOME MUCH NEEDED IMMEDIATE RESPONSE EXERCISES INVOLVING AN INK STICK OR PENS TO CILLIAN TYPES. AFTER A LONG LONG NIGHT WE ARE FINALLY IN THE RACK ONE MORE DOWN AND ALMOST WEEK 03.

04OCT13
TODAY WAS THE BREAKING POINT FOR SOME RECRUITS, MYSELF INCLUDED. BETWEEN THE INCENTIVE TRAINING , THE CONSTANT PERFROMANCE TRACKERS AND THE NON STOP YELLING. I THINK OUR WALLS ARE STARING TO CRASH DOWN AROUND US. THERE ARE A FEW RECRUITS WHO HAVE A HARD TIME LISTENING THE FIRST TIME. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS ARE GOING TO FIX THAT. TODAY WAS THE DAY THAT COMPANY COMMANDERS AMPED UP OUR REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE QUESTIONS. OUR GENERAL ORDERS, AND PHONETIC ALPHABET ARE OK IT’S OUR CONFIDENCE THAT KILLS IT. MAYBE THE COMPANY COMMANDERS WILL HAVE A GAME FOR THAT ONE NIGHT, THEY SEEM TO HAVE ONE FOR EVERYHTING ELSE. AS FOR NOW WE ARE IN BED AND READY FOR WHAT TOMORROW MAY BRING.

05OCT13
“FIRE FIRE FIRE”, BEGAIN TODAY LIKE ALL THE ONES BEFORE. TODAY WAS NOT AS MUCH HARD AS IT WAS REPETITIVE. HEARING OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS CORRECT THE SAME MISTAKES OF RECRUITS OVER AND OVER IS GETTING OLD TO MANY OF US. NOT BECAUSE OF OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS BUT BECAUSE OF THE RECRUITS WHO REFUSE TO GET IT TOGETHER. SEE UNTILL WE WORK AS A TEAM WE WILL BE PUNISHED AS A TEAM SO IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT IS 01 RECRUIT OR 60 WE ALL PAY FOR THE MISTAKES WE MAKE TOGETHER. HEY WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOUR STRONGER. ON THE PLUS SIDE, TOMORROW IS SUNDAY AND WE HAVE 05 HOUS TO OURSELFS. DIVINE HOURS IS A RECRUIT SAVOR NOT SURE WHAT WE WOULD DO WITHOUT IT. ANOTHER DAY DOWN AND A SMALL BREAK TOMORROW.
