10JAN14
TODAY WAS JANUAY AND GRADUATION DAY FOR ECHO AND DELTA 189, WE WOKE UP AND DID OUR NORMAL ROUTINE GOT TO CHOW THEN BACK HOME. FOR MOST OF THE MORNING UNTIL CHOW WE HAD PERSONAL TIME IN THE SQUADBAY AND DID GRADUATION SUPPORT. THIS CONSISTED OF GREETING, OPENING DOORS AND DIRECTING FOOT TRAFFIC WHEN NEEDED. THIS TASK TOOK US UNTIL LUNCH CHOW WITH SOME OF US HAVING TO STRAG BECAUSE THAT LASTED SO LONG.

AT LUNCH CHOW WE GOT OUR COFFEE PRIVLEGES AND THAT MADE EVERYONE SO RELIEVED. NEXT WE WERE OFF TO A SEXUAL ASSAULT CLASS TAUGHT BY OUR TRAINING OFFICER, COMMANDER SMITH. IT WAS AN INTERESTING CLASS, FROM THERE WE HAD A POOL WORKOUT AND THEN TO DINNER CHOW. THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS HAD CONSISTEED OF VARIOUS THINGS FOR EVERYONE. A LOT OF US WENT TO CHOIR. SOME STAYED BACK FOR SQUADBAY MAINTINENCE AND THE REST WERE AT THE GYM FOR A CLEANUP.

ONCE EVERYONE WAS BACK AT THE HOUSE WE ALL GOT ON THE QUARTERDECK FOR SOME WORDS FROM CHIEF GRIFFIN AND PETTY OFFICER GARVER. THEY GOT US TO CHARGE OUR PHONES FOR LIBERTY THE FOLLOWING DAY AND TALKED TO US ABOUT OUR COLORS THAT WE CAN EARN IF WE BUCKLE DOWN. WE ENDED THE NIGHT ON A GREAT NOTE AND HAD EVENING ROUTINE AND HIT THE RACKS . THIS IS WHEN WE REALLY BECOME A COMPANY.
11JAN14
ANOTHER MORNING STARTING AT 0530 UP OUT OF THE RACK INTO THE HEAD AND OFF TO CHOW. WE HAD A BUSY MORNING AHEAD OF US, ALL LEADING UP TO OUR ON BASE LIBERTY WHICH WE COULD NOT WAIT TO BEGIN. BEFORE THAT COULD HAPPEN WE CAME BACK TO THE HOUSE FROM CHOW AND DONNED FULL SWEATS. WE WERE GOING ON A COMPANY RUN WITH THE NEW SENATOR OF NEW JERSEY.

THE ROUTE WE TOOK WAS OUTSIDE THE BASE AND AROUND THE NEIGHBOHOOD, WE SANG CADANCE THE WHOLE WAY LED BY OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS. IT WAS PRETTY COOL WE GOT A GLIMPSE OF OUR COLORS BECAUSE WE WERE GIVEN THEM JUST FOR THIS ONE EVENT. THE BEGINNING PART OF THE DAY WAS DEDICATED TO SHOWING SENATOR BOOKER HOW WE DO THINGS AT CAPE MAY.

NEXT WE GOT OUR PIECES AND CHANGED INTO OPERATIONAL DRESS UNIFORMS TO SHOW OFF OUR MANUAL OF ARMS, OF COURSE RIGHT BEFORE WE HAD TO DO THIS IN FRONT OF SENATOR BOOKER NO LESS, WE GOT A FULL PIECE INCENTIVE TRAINING SESSION. WE STILL DID GREAT THOUGH. WE GOT SOME INSIGHT INTO OUR FIRST UNITS AFTER THAT WE GOT A CHANCE TO TOUR OUR SIZED CUTTERS AND STATIONS AND GOT TO ASK THE CREWS ALL ABOUT THE FLEET. THE PART OF THE DAY WE WERE ABOUT TO HAVE WAS ALL WE COULD THINK ABOUT, COMMENCEING OUR ON BASE LIBERTY.

BEFORE WE BEFORE WE COULD HEAD OUT WE WERE BRIEFED BY PETTY OFFICCER GARVER ON THE RULES WE MUST FOLLOW. HE GAVE US SOME WORDS OF WISDOM AND SET US FREE, EVERYONE GRABBED THEIR CELLPHONES AND WERE OFF FASTER THAN RECRUITS WHEN THERE WATCH IS COMPLETE. EVERYONE HEADED STRAIGHT TO THE EXCHANGE TO TREAT THEMSELVES THEN OVER TO THE HARBORVIEW TO RELAX AND TALK ON THE PHONE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE WAS LOCKED BACK ON WE PACKED UP EARLY AND HEADED BACK TO THE HOUSE, DROPPED OFF OUR PHONES AND COMMENCED EVENING ROUTINE. OVERALL IT WAS A FINE DAY, SO WE HIT THE RACKS ON A GOOD AND MOTIVATED NOTE.

12JAN14
TODAY WAS A DAY THAT SEEMED TO LAST FOREVER THERE WASN’T THAT MUCH GOING ON BUT FOR SOME REASON IT DRAGGED ON. WE STARTED THE DAY LIKE EVERY SUNDAY, BREAKFEAST CHOW THEN DIVINE HOURS FOLLOWD BY A TRIP BACK TO THE GALLEY FOR LUNCH. AFTER THAT WE HAD A NICE COMPANY RUN THAT TOOK US ALL AROUND THE EDGE OF THE REGIMENT ENDING AT THE TRACK WHERE WE FINISHED WITH TWO LAPS THEN HEADED BACK TO THE HOUSE. THE WORKOUT DIDN’T END THERE WE HEADED OVER TO THE GYM FOR A BIKE WORKOUT , 700 CALORIES IN A HOUR… WE SHOWERED BACK AT THE HOUSE AND GOT ON LINE. BEFORE DINNER CHOW AND EVEN AFTER WE PRACTICED OUR CLOSE ORDER DRILL MOVMENTS FOR OUR TEST ON TUESDAY. THE BEST OFF THE NIGHT WAS SAME AS ALWAYS JUST SOME EVENING ROUTINE AND SQUADBAY MAITINENCE . THEN OUR RACKS WERE LAID IN AS WE OFFICIALLY ENDED WEEK 06.

13JAN14
TODAY WAS A DAY OF SOME EXCITING AND NEW THINGS, IT WAS OUR FIRST DAY OF WEEK 07 SO THIS ENTAILED A 0500 WAKE UP AND STRAIGHT TOO THE GYM TO WORKOUT. AFTER THAT WE SHOWERED AND RIGHT TO CHOW. FIRST UP AFTER THAT WAS A CLASS ON HAZING TAUGHT BY CHIEF DUNCAN. THEN A CLASS ON FIRST AID FOLLOWED. THIS IS WHERE OUR DAY GOT INTERSTING WHEN OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS CAME TO PICK US UP FOR LUNCH CHOW.

OUR GUIDONS WERE MISSING, SUPPOSEDLY WHILE WE HAD CLASS THE GOT UP AND WALKED AWAY. OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS YELLED AT US FOR IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH LUNCH CHOW, CONTINUOUSLY REPEATING “WHERES MY GUIDON?!” AFTER LUNCH WE CHANGED OUT INTO OUR GYM CLOTHES THEN MARCHED OUT TO THE FRONT OF HEALY HALL TO RECEIVE PUNISHMENT FOR THE LOST GUIDONS. NEXT WE INCENTIVELY TRAINED HARD NOT KNOWING THAT IT WAS ALL A TRICK. AT THE END OF THIS WE ABOUT FACED AND THERE WERE OUR COLORS! WE EARNED THEM FINALLY!

14JAN14
DAY 02 WITH OUR COLORS AND OF WEEK 07 ANOTHER EXTREMELY EARLY VISIT TO THE GYM FOR WEIGHT TRAINING. OF COURSE WHAT WAS NEXT BUT BREAKFEAST CHOW THEN STRAIGHT TO SEAMENSHIP CLASS, ON LINE HANDLING. LUNCH CHOW AFTER THAT AND THEN TO OUR SWIM CIRCUT, THAT WAS DIFFERENT TODAY. WE HAD TO SWIM THE WHOLE LENGTH OF THE POOL. T

THEN WE HAD OUR DRESS UNIFORM INSPECTION IN OUR BRAVOS. THERE WAS AN ADDED STRESS TO THIS BEING THAT LIEUTENANT STIEFEL WAS INSPECTING US. IT TURNED OUT GOOD THERE WERE NOT MANY PROBLEMS BUT GETTING READY FOR IT WAS A HASSLE. TODAY WAS ALSO OUR CLOSE ORDER DRILL TEST, WE GOT AN EIGHT. THERE WERE TOO MANY MISTAKES MADE. THERE WAS REALLY NOTHING FOR THE END OF THE TRAINING DAY AFTER CHOW, A LITTLE A LITTLE UINDIVIDUAL QUARTERDECK PUNISHMENT AND SQUADBAY MAINTINENCE TO END THE NIGHT THEN HIT THE RACKS FOR ANOTHER DAY TO COME.

15JAN14
WEDNSDAY WEEK 07 ANOTHER DAY BRIGHT AND EARLY 0500 WAKEUP FROM YEOMEN, THEN OUR WORKOUT. BREAKFAST CHOW FOLLOWED THAT AND OFF TO OUR FINAL CLASS OF SEAMENSHIP THAT INCLUDED THAT INCLUDED OUR SEAMENSHIP FINAL TEST. WE ALL PASSED AND EARNED ANOTHER PENNANT FOR OUR GUIDON, THE GREEN SEAMENSHIP PENNANT. THIS BROUGHT US TO CHOW, AFTER THAT WE HAD A COUPLE HOURS OF ADMINISTRAVTIVE TIME TO GIVE US A CHANCE TO GET READY FOR OUR FIRST UNITS . THEN WE ALL GOT SOME SHARP LOOKING HAIRCUTS, HIGH AND TIGHT FOR EVERYONE. THEN EVENING CHOW AND A NORMAL NIGHT OF EVERYONE BEING SPREAD AROUND THE REGIMENT AND EVEING ROUTINE, TO THE RACK. A GOOD NORMAL FUNCTIONAL DAY

16JAN14
ONE MORE DAY CLOSER TO THE END OF WEEK 07 ON THIS THURSDAY WE WOKE UP AT 0500 RUSHED OFF TO THE GYM AND DID OUR WORKOUT. BREAKFEAST CHOW WAS NEXT AND THEN WE HAD ADMINISTRATIVE TIME WHICH HAD US SPREAD AMONGST THE REGIMENT GETTING VARIOUS THINGS DONE. THE MAJORITY OF THE COMPANY STAYED AT THE HOUSE TO STUDY FOR OUR FINAL THE FOLLOWING DAY.

RIGHT BEFORE LUNCH CHOW WE SIGNED OUR OFFICIAL ORDER FOR OUR FIRST UNITS. ONCE LUNCH CHOW ENDED WE WENT TO 02 CLASSES AND THEN WENT TO DINNER CHOW. AFTER CHOW WE HEADED FOR THE GYM TO BURN CALORIES ON THE BIKES. IT WAS A PRETTY NORMAL TRAINING DAY THAT ENDED NICELY AND INTO THE RACKS.

17JAN14
FRIDAY WEEK 07 TO THE GYM WE WENT AT 0500 FOR A BIKE WORKOUT THEN CHANGED AND WENT TO BREAKFEAST CHOW. WE HAD OUR BIG FINAL EXAM THAT WE ALL NEEDED TO PASS. IT CONSISTED OF A CLOSED BOOK PORTION FOR MORE OF A CHALLENGE. IT WAS TOUGH BUT WE ALL PASSED EVEN IF THAT MEANT TAKING IT AGAIN FOR SOME OF US.

FOR A COUPLE HOURS AFTER THAT WE HAD A CLOSE ORDER DRILL AND MANUAL OF ARMS TEST, WHICH WE GOT A 20 OUT OF 20 ON. THEN ONE OF THE BEST THINGS HAPPENED WE GOT TO RAISE OUR ON THE REGIMENT FLAGPOLE TO SHOW WHO THE SENIOR COMPANY IS. WE HAD TO EARN THIS OF COURSE AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO DO THAT BEING THAT THAN SOME PIECE INCENTIVE TRAINING. WE DID THE CONFIDENCE COURSE NEXT WHICH IS ALWAYS GREAT AND SO MUCH FUN TO DO WITH THE COMPANY.

WE ALSO DID THE MUNRO MILE . THEN TO DINNER CHOW AND CHOIR FOLLOWED FOR MOST OF THE COMPANY. THE NIGHT ENDED WITH OUR FIRST DEBRIEF, TO HELP US GET THROUGHT THE FLEET AND SETTLE US DOWN FOR WEEK 08. WE GOT TO SHARE VARIOUS STORIES WITH OUR COMPANY COMMANDERS AND LAUGH ABOUT ALL THE THINGS WE JACKED UP. OVERALL JUST A GREAT DAT THAT ENDED AS ALL OF THEM DO IN THE RACK.

18JAN14
SATURDAY WEEK 07 THE DAY FINALLY GET OUR OFF BASE LIBERTY. WE WOKE UP AT 0530 AND RIGHT AWAY STARTED TO PREPARE OUR DRESS UNIFORMS FOR LATER IN THE DAY. WE WENT TO BREAKFEAST CHOW AND THEN BACK TO THE SQUADBAY TO CONTINUE GETTING OUR UNIFORMS READY. BEFORE WE COULD LEAVE WE HAD AN OFF BASE LIBERTY BRIEFING. THEN WE HAD TO DON OUR DRESS BLUES AND GET A QUICK INSPECTON ON THEM TO LEAVE THE HOUSE. WE ALL MADE OUR WAY TO THE GATE OF THE REGIMENT WHERE THERE WAS ALL TAXIS WAITING TO TAKE US ABOUT OUR DAY. FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS EVERYONE DID THEIR OWN THINGS. LIKE REST IN A HOTEL ROOM, FILL UP ON JUNK FOOD, WATCH MOVIES, AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY COULD POSSIBLY THINK OF. AROUND 2000 WE GOT IN OUR CABS AND MADE OUR WAY HOME. OVERALL IT WAS A GREAT RELAXING DAY. JUST WHAT WE NEEDED FOR OUR LAST WEEK TO START, SO WE HIT THE RACKS IN PREPERATION OF A BIG WEEK.

19JAN14
THE LAST DAY OF WEEK 07 ONTO WEEK, NUMBER 08. WE HAVE A BIG WEEK AHEAD OF US WITH LOTS OF CHALLENGES AND PREPARATION FOR GRADUATUION. TODAY WAS A DIFFERENT KIND OF SUNDAY. WE HAD REVILLE AT ABOUT 0530 AND WORKED ON PERSONAL STUFF UNTIL 0715 CHOW.

THIS SUNDAY BEING OUR LAST SUNDAY ON THE REGIMENT, WE DRESSED IN OUR BRAVOS WE MADE SURE ALL WAS SECURE THROUGHOUT THE REGIMENT. AFTER DIVINE HOURS WE HAD A COMPANY RUN, THEN FINALLY GOT RID OF OUR PIECES! THE MOMENT WE HAD ALL BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE WE GOT THEM. THROUGHOUT THE DAY WE DECIDED ON THE COMPANY AWARD WINNERS AND GRAD SETUP. THE REST OF THE NIGHT WAS FAIRLY BORING ASIDE FROM LAUGHS WE SHARED AND THEN HIT THE RACKS TO TAKE ON THE MASTER CHIEF BERRY CHALLENGE BRIGHT AND EARLY, A HUGE DAY.

20JAN14
THE FIRST DAY OF WEEK 08 ONLY A FIVE DAY WEEK UNTIL THE END. THIS WAS A LONG, HARD, AND TIRING DAY ALL BECAUSE THE MASTER CHIEF BERRY CHALLENGE. WE BEGAN BRIGHT AND EARLY WITH THE PULL UPS FOR A GOAL SCORE OF 17. RIGHT ON THE BIKES AFTER THAT WHICH A PERFECT SCORE REQUIRED 900 OR MORE CALORIES. WE HAD CHOW AFTER THAT TO FILL OUR EMPTY STOMACHS AND REPLENISH THE ENERGY WE HAD JUST BURNT. RIGHT FROM CHOW OVER TO SEXTON HALL TO DO A WATCH QUARTERS AND STATION BILL DRILL. THEN ONCE THAT WAS OVER BACK TO THE HOUSE, WE GOT OUR REAL COAST GUARD BALL COVERS TO REPLACE THE COVERS WE HAD SWEAT IN AND DESTROYED THE PAST 07 WEEKS. WE GOT TO HAVE ANOTHER DEBRIEFING AS WELL WHICH IS ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF THIS WEEK. AT LUNCH CHOW WE WERE TOLD TO TALJK TO OUR SHIPMATES … IT WAS WEIRD AND KINDA HARD WE HAD BECOMEACUSTOM TO SO MANY QUIT GALLEY VISITS SINCE WEEK 01. WE HAD THE SECOND HALF OF THE PHYSICAL PORTION OF THE MASTER CHIEF BERRY CHALLENGE THAT CONSISTED OF A 100 METER SWIM, 2 MILE RUN, PUSHUPS AND SITUPS. WE WERE DRAINED. WE EVEN TOOK OUR COMPANY PHOTO TODAY IN THE MUSTANG SUITS WHICH WAS AN AWESOME IDEA. LATRER ON IN THE NIGHT WAS THER LAST SECTION OF OUR CHALLENGE , I WON’T GO IN DEPTH CAUSE WE BECAUSE WE FAILED AND IT TOOK US PAST TAPS. WE WENT THE RACK CLOSER TO THE END BUT DISSAPOINTED IN OUR PERFORMANCE.
