M-195 Week 07 Summary

Off base liberty! Since the day we signed our papers, our recruiters have talked to us about the infamous “Off base liberty.” Off base liberty is a privilege, a right, and a reward to represent a “Port Call” in the fleet. Mike-195 got dressed in our dress blues, and headed off base to represent the Coast Guard for the first time to the public. Recruits of mike-195 were greeted with open arms amongst the Cape May community, again, Mike-195 was reminded why we do what we do, and who we do it for. All this week, Mike-195 was given test after test after test. We finished seamanship this week and earned a high enough average to receive our seamanship pennant for our colors. In fact, we earned a lot of pennants this week. We had our infamous close order and manual of arms test this week. Let’s just say our section commander, Chief Milligan, was blown away by our precision and our unification as a company during the test. So we received that pennant as well! More pennants! More bling! Week 07 has come to an end… Lima-195 is gone… And Mike-195 is entering week 08, our final week of training. We are the senior company on the regiment. As we begin to see the end, our standards and expectations just get higher, were the tip of the spear. Week 08 is Mike’s wee. Were ready, were motivated, were 01 week away from the title…COASTIE.
