ROMEO-195 WEEK 04 Summary

Just one sleep and it’s week 5 where has the time gone. Each day feels like in eternity yet the weeks fly by in the blink of an eye. Romeo 195 have a jam-packed week somehow even with all the things we’ve accomplished our company Commander still find time to get the sweat out of us one way or another each and every day.

This week was huge for Romeo 195 and we did lots of exciting benchmark things such as our firefighting practical, graduation photos, physical fitness assessment test, midterm exams another round of bald nugget haircuts and last but not least fill out our dream sheets. Wow, right!?

First things first, the firefighting practical was awesome fire, fire, fire, we burst through the door of a dimly-lit red room with strobe lights flashing as we shift Don flash Hood fire suits oxygen tank with masks and a red helmet to top off the ensemble after checking over one another’s equipment. We rushed to the fire scene and lined up are voice line releasing hundreds of gallons of water at the direction of the fire team captain with the fire extinguisher. We transited back through the smoke filled room keeping low and following our hose line to the gear locker, mission complete Roman 195 in less than 10 minutes.

The rush of firefighting got are adrenaline going but what really got us excited where our graduation photos. There it is, a sliver of light at the end of this dark gold demon-infested tunnel. Donning a Bravo jacket and a dress blue cover had all of us looking far better than we in recent weeks. Of course we were still covered in sweat from our intensive training session’s right before, but that’s what Photoshop is for right?

Still it felt good to get in our future uniforms that we are working so hard to earn!

Week 4 is where the real meat and potatoes is for physical fitness. In the first week we took our first physical fitness assessment and establish a benchmark for our physical activities but this test hold weight because if you fail you go to physical fitness enhancement (extra training) and potentially can be reverted. Luckily it seems our incentive training has paid off because many of us not only past but did better than the first test!

As if this was not enough excitement we also had our midterm exam on everything we learned thus far. Getting below in 80% means failure and again failure leads to rephasel the further we get into training the easier it becomes to be reverted and be farther from the goal of graduation.

As soon as we finished our midterm it was a journey to the barber, our nuggets had begun to grow some hair back so we buzz them back down so that once again we can all resemble thumbs. Honestly the Romeo males are so used to bald, really short hair that we would not even recognize each other if we had hair. 1’s all round for the man of Romeo.

Last but not certainly the least only one 95 finally got a tiny say in the fate of our future after boot camp is more than a hope it is a dream sheet where you list 04 District pics and a job preference and then hope for the best. We are all anxiously awaiting our new orders to our first unit just as we can imagine our family and friends back home!

Week 4 for Romeo 105 was filled not only with pain and suffering but awesome events that lifted are spirits and taught us some very important lessons stay tuned for the updated body count in week 5 summary!
