Victor 197 Recruit Journal Week 06

International Maritime Signal Flag Victor

Formed: August 13, 2019

Graduates: October 04, 2019

Done and Done! Victor Company has just gotten one week closer to the Graduation date, but it certainly was no easy task. Our Physical Fitness Assessment came and we gave it are all. Most of us had nerves going in, and knew that the dessert was on the line. Although we walked away sweating and without pies on our lunch trays, we haven’t given up yet! Most of the week was spent preparing for the real test: our close order drill, finals, and inspections. But Victor Company’s CC’s always make time for those who “want” to sweat and there’s always recruits ask “in for it. Some of us got to participate in the “power hour”! This event included all of the Victor Company favorites like line handling, sniper position, and much more! All while your shipmates enjoy evening routine. As stressful as week 06 was, it certainly brought with it a day we’d all been looking forward to since we started, on base liberty! Victor recruits used their six hours of freedom inhaling chocolate bars and Dr. Pepper, all while face timing their loved ones. It was a much needed break, although most of us kept our heads on a swivel. We hit the Exchange and ate at the All-Hands club and loved every second of it. Most of us never thought it would be so fun to shop for a tooth brush holder. But now we’ve got our sights set on off-base liberty, and it’s been made very clear it must be earned. Something tells us well have to pay with sweat, but that’s alright… We can sweat till the end! Victor is jumping straight into week 07, Aye, Aye!
