Delta 198 Recruit Journal Week 05

International Maritime Signal Flag Delta

Formed: October 29, 2019
Graduates: December 20, 2019

Week 05 for Delta-198 could not have had a better end. They were visited by their Company Mentors; Commander McLaughlin and Master Chief Linder. They answered the many questions from Delta-198 about what to expect at their new units and set everyone’s troubled minds at ease with kind words of encouragement and more information about what life will be like after graduation. Before leaving, Commander McLaughlin reminded us about how far we have gone and that only 03 weeks remain. We can certainly do this, and we are confident we are the best company on the regiment. Week 05 has been a different kind of challenge for us with early morning time objectives, being held at a higher standard, and new things to learn and understand. Search and rescue week requires us to be quick and alert in the mornings with no time to waste. From forming up, to being in the proper uniform, everything is expected to be punctual and perfect. Our Company Commanders are making sure to keep us on our “A” game at all times, by reminding us to pay attention to detail, or else we will be held accountable in difficult ways. Slowly but surely we will get it together and be inspection ready at all times. We just have to remember what Chief Milligan says; ‘If you mess up, own it and move forward with a positive attitude, because tomorrow’s a new day, and all you can do is give your best.
