Echo 199 Recruit Journal Week 04

International Maritime Signal Flag Echo

Formed: August 18, 2020
Graduates:  October 09, 2020

Monday started SAR Week, instantly the stress was on. 30 seconds to wake up and throw on your go fasters, right after 10 minutes to put on your operational dress uniform. Recruits running to formation as fast as possible. SAR week was the least of our worries that day…the close order drill test was here!!

If we passed, then we could all march around without our company commanders. Good thing the very next day ECHO 199 was marching around loud and proud. All week, class after class, marching from building to building.

The very next thing echo 199 had to worry about was rack inspections. It wasn’t a surprise that it happened, it was a surprise that I happened! On Thursday the Section Commanders came to inspect our squad bays and racks. Sadly, ECHO Company didn’t make it out unscathed. But it wasn’t a defeat, it was the motivation we needed to do better. Slowly, we are coming together as a team. As a team, we are ready for anything.

Saturday marked the moment a lot of recruit were waiting for, the obstacle course. Recruits cheered on their shipmates as they overcame their fears and pushed through this one of a kind experience to complete the challenge. This marked the end of our week.
