Juliet 199 Recruit Journal Week 06

International Maritime Signal Flag

Formed: September 29, 2020
Graduates:  November 20, 2020

Have you ever seen American Ninja Warrior, with the jumping, flying, and scaling of the walls? The show was almost identical to what we looked like today on the Confidence Course (obstacle course), at least what we thought we looked like. We definitely were not as graceful as we would have liked, but we had fun doing it. It was a much needed morale boost for all of us. At the end of the course there was a rope that seemed over thirty feet high. Once you made it to the top there was bell to ring. Our mission was to climb the rope, ring the bell, and then say our new unit followed by “Topside”.

Most of us made it! But shortly after this event we realized we must stay locked on with the goal of graduating in mind. After lunch chow, we gathered into the classroom to discuss the past two weeks with our Company Mentor, LCDR Steel. We are so thankful for our time with her because she is so insightful and knowledge about all things Coast Guard.  Plus we are able to relax a little! With week six coming to an end, we only have two weeks left of Training and it is nowhere near close to being finished.

We still have many milestones ahead of us as a Company. And our Lead Company Commander and her Assistants remind us that Bootcamp is the easy part, the hard part is still ahead, as she guides us and pushes us to the finish line. But after graduation it is up to us, we must stay motivated, determined, and do the right thing. It is all about your mindset. We miss you all and look forward to seeing you soon!
